ProductPress relies on your choice of either Gumroad or Paddle to store your product offerings and operate your checkout.
Before you can sell an item, as either a one-time item or a recurring membership, you'll need to add it to your Gumroad account.
ADD THE PRODUCT TO YOUR GUMROAD ACCOUNT

Instead of adding content to your product in Gumroad, we recommend instead using the "Custom Delivery of Content" steps to redirect to a URL on your WordPress site. You can find those steps here: https://help.gumroad.com/article/154-custom-delivery-products
We recommend creating a generic "Thank You" page on your WordPress site, that isn't protected by ProductPress, with general information for customers that tells them the following:
- Their account creation link will be sent to them by email shortly
- A link to the login page on your site
- Recommend that they bookmark your page
- Your contact email for any support enquiries
ACTIVATE THE PRODUCT IN PRODUCTPRESS
After you've added the product in Gumroad, you need to activate it in ProductPress on your site, so that a new WordPress user account is added for each customer, and their info is sent to them.
Set the product to "Active", and then click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
CREATING A PURCHASE LINK
In your Gumroad account, click on the product to be taken to the sales and purchase page for the product that you just created:
You can then copy/paste the web address from your browser and link to that page wherever you want to create a buy button on your site.
If you add ?wanted=true
to the end of that URL, it will skip the information page and take them directly into the checkout process.
